In English, the term \“casino\“ refers to a facility that houses and accommodates certain types of gambling activities. Casinos are often built near or combined with hotels, restaurants, retail shopping, cruise ships, and other tourist attractions.
In the context of Pakistani local culture, gambling is strictly prohibited under Islamic principles. Pakistan is an Islamic republic where the majority of the population follows Islam, which clearly forbids any form of gambling. The Quran explicitly states that gambling is \“an abomination of Satan\“s handiwork\“ and Muslims are instructed to avoid it.
Traditional Pakistani society places strong emphasis on family values, hard work, and honest earnings. Gambling is viewed as not only religiously forbidden but also socially harmful as it can lead to financial ruin, family breakdown, and moral degradation.
While some forms of betting may exist in underground circles, mainstream Pakistani culture completely rejects casino culture. The government maintains strict laws against gambling establishments, and there are no legal casinos operating in the country.
Instead of gambling entertainment, Pakistani culture offers various alternative recreational activities such as traditional sports, family gatherings, religious festivals, and cultural events that align with Islamic values and promote social harmony. |
