Sydney Sweeney is looking ahead after ending her engagement to Jonathan Davino.
A source tells PEOPLE the 28-year-old actress “has fully moved on,” even though she has tried to keep things on good terms with her ex. Advertisement
Over the weekend, Sweeney was spotted riding in the passenger seat of Davino’s car in Los Angeles, according to photos published by Page Six.
The brief outing comes months after she called off their wedding and later confirmed the relationship had ended. While they’ve stayed in occasional contact, the source says Sweeney has no plans to rekindle the romance.
“She’s really tried to keep things amicable. He still asks to see her and she has when she’s had the time, but she’s never getting back together with him,” the insider shared. “She just wants to move on now.”
Sweeney is currently seeing music executive Scooter Braun.
In September, another source described their dynamic as “casually hooking up,” but things appear to be growing more serious. The pair were last spotted together on Sept. 30 in Los Angeles.
“She’s happy with Scooter and thrilled about her career,” the source says. “She has everything she could ever wish for.”
The actress recently stepped into the ring — on screen — for her new film Christy, where she plays real-life boxer Christy Martin.
At an October screening, Sweeney shared that portraying Martin and getting to know her had a meaningful impact. The role “taught me how to stand up for myself more and feel stronger in my personal life [and] my work life,” she said.
She echoed those thoughts during her speech at Variety’s Power of Women event on Oct. 29, where she was honoured.
“Playing [Martin] taught me that surviving isn\“t the end of the story. It is the beginning of reclaiming it,” she said.
Sweeney also spoke directly to young women, adding, “I hope that you know that your power is already within you. You don\“t have to wait for permission to be brave. You don\“t have to shrink yourself to make others comfortable. And if you fall, you can just get right back up.”
