Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor may have lost his royal titles, but a former RAF officer is arguing that his hard earned military honours should remain untouched.
Al Rush slammed the move as “cancel culture gone crazy,” pointing out Andrew’s decades of service in the Royal Navy, including flying helicopters during the Falklands War and commanding HMS Cottesmore. Advertisement
“He put in as much effort and time as anybody else. He shouldn\“t lose it,” Rush said, echoing the sentiment of those who feel the former Duke’s military achievements are being unfairly swept aside.
The comments come as the Government confirmed it is working to strip Andrew of his last remaining honorary military rank, following King Charles’ directive.
“I am not apologising for him. I am not justifying or defending anything that he is alleged to have done. But we do need to see the facts, have them properly investigated, and make a proper decision,” Former RAF officer weighed.
GB News host Miriam Cates added fuel to the discussion, questioning the impact of modern “cancel culture.”
“Andrew is alleged to have done some terrible things, but he\“s also done heroic things in the Falklands War,” she said.
“If we start erasing all the good someone does every time there’s an allegation, we risk cancelling everyone.” |
