A clip posted on social media on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, shows the Firework singer blowing out the cake candles and immediately slamming it into her crew members.
Netizens immediately reacted after the American pop singer threw her birthday cake at attendees, then let it fall to the floor.

Fans reacted and described the behaviour as ‘selfish’ and ‘wasteful’, with one user commenting, “Is this a skit? Who ended up having to clean that off the floor?”
Another upset user, who claimed her mother baked the cake, re-posted the video and criticised Katy for her behaviour.
“My mom was the one that baked this cake, she was so excited about the opportunity to make a cake for Katy Perry and spent so long on it, I’m genuinely confused and upset as to why she would do this,” the X user shared, prompting furious fans to weigh in.
Someone else echoed those sentiments, writing, “the craziest, craziest part is that someone else is gonna clean that s–t up.”
Another netizen noted, “Never understand why people throw or push people’s faces into them, such a waste.”
While a fourth observed, “low-key feel bad for her crew because they looked excited for some cake.”
