Colin Farrell to reprise \“Oz Cobb aka Penguin\“ in \“The Batman Part II\“
Colin Farrell’s latest remark about a new season of his hit miniseries The Penguin has been receiving mixed reactions from the fans.
The 49-year-old Irish actor rose to fame with the portrayal of Oz Cobb in the Matt Reeves’ world of Gotham. Advertisement
After the success of the show, fans have been eagerly waiting for the renewal of the series for another season.
Previously, the makers revealed that they would only make a new season if Farrell agrees to return.
Seemingly, the Golden Globe winner has killed the hope of season 2 as he is not interested in wearing Cobb’s makeup again as Colin thinks that no storyline can justify about Penguin.
He stated, “I kind of bet against, but not by a wide mark.”
Fans react to Colin Farrell’s statement:
The DC and Farrell fans seemed slightly upset with the actor’s comment as they do hope to see some kind of version of the Cobb.
One of them wrote, “I maybe in the minority here, but I really enjoyed the else worlds stories like the penguin show.”
“I just hope someone would do a Two Face live action series at HBO Max at some point. I would love to see an R rated Batman as well with Harry Dean Morgan as an old Bruce Wayne or something.”
Meanwhile, there are some who agree with the In Bruges actor’s statement as they believe that the show ended on a perfect note.
“Exactly. I wasn\“t expecting much from this show and it turn out to be a masterpiece a follow up is unnecessary just leave it as it is for once”, wrote another fan.
On the other hand, some people think that season 2 of Penguin depends on how the Batman Part II treats the character.
A third internet user penned, “If Penguin doesn’t have a big role in part 2 and he stays as the kingpin or crime in Gotham personally I say give Penguin a season 2 of him defending his status from other Gotham gangsters tryna take his throne.”
Colin will be returning as Penguin in the upcoming sequel of Batman starring Robert Pattinson. |
