小知识 - RSVP 和 canapés

在正式邀请函里，我们常会看到 RSVP 这个短语，其意思是“请回复”。

这其实是法语 Répondez s il vous plait 的缩写。

现在大家已形成习惯，收到邀请函后，不论是否能赴宴，都会回复邀请人，方便主人准备酒水和食品。

现在在英国，很多正式聚会都以酒会的方式举办。

酒会上会提供葡萄酒、水和橙汁类的饮料，同时也会提供非常精致的小点心canapés，可惜就是量很少，一口一个。

一般由服务员端着盘子送到客人面前享用，错过了就没了。

如何回复邀请？

你可以根据请帖的要求，比如打电话，短信或者邮件回复。

回复时可以说：

Thank you very much for the invitation. We would be delighted to join you at the party.

谢谢邀请，我们非常高兴能来参加聚会。

We are looking forward to see you at the party.

我们期待着在聚会上与你见面。

非正式邀请：

（下班了，出去喝一杯！）

Ben:I’ve just finished my project.

我刚做完我的项目。

Ying:Well done. How did it go?

恭喜。做得怎么样？

Ben:I think it went pretty well, I hope to hear some feedback next Monday.

我觉得还不错，希望下周一能得到一些反馈。

Ying:I’m done for the day as well. Would you like to go for a drink?

Ben:Oh yes. I’d love one. The White Horse around the corner?

“简单的邀请”常用口语表达

Would you like to come for a drink?

你想来喝一杯吗？

Would you be interested in going to the art exhibition?

你想去看一下那个画展吗？

Do you fancy a drink at the bar?

你想去酒吧里喝一杯吗？（Fancy 是非常口语化的表达。）

Do you feel like going to the launch party tonight?

你想去参加今晚的发布盛会吗？

Are you up for a musical next week?

下周去看音乐剧，你觉得怎样？（Are you up for 也是非常口语化的表达。）

在英语里问别人想不想做什么事情，通常用would you like to…

这个说法比 do you want to 要更礼貌含蓄一些，让人听着感觉会舒服好多。

邀请朋友聚会的对话

A: We re going to have a few friends over at my house. Would you like to come?　　

我们几个朋友准备在我家聚一聚，你能来吗？　　

B：Absolutely.　　

当然要去。　　

A: We have a party tonight. Would you like to come?　　

我们晚上有个派对，你来吗？　　

B：I d love to．　　

我很愿意来。　　

A:I want to buy you a drink.　　

我想请你喝杯酒。　　

B：That s great．　　

那太好了。　　

A: Could you come to my house for a beer?　　

到我家来一起喝一杯怎么样？　　

B：I d love to．　　

我很愿意。　　

A: If you are not doing anything, would you like to go dancing?　　

如果你没有其他事，去跳舞怎么样？　　

B：Yes．　　

有时间。　　

A: What are you doing over the weekend?　　

这个周末你打算干什么？　　

B：I m thinking about it.　　

我正在考虑呢。
