23-year-old Slater Jones is a jewellery store owner who lost his vision in his right eye at the age of 17. He revealed that after it became clear his vision couldn’t be restored, “I decided to design my own unique prosthetic that will help my career as a jewellery designer.”
The artist who designed the diamond iris prosthetic eye for Slater, shared a video on Instagram revealing that the 23-year-old\“s eye is the most valuable he has ever made.
He added that three carats wouldn’t fit, otherwise it might have been ever bigger.
Slater said, “I lost my eye, but the prosthetic brought a new light into my life.” He now refers to himself as “Diamond Eye” and uses it as his unique selling point.
Netizens are amazed by the unusual prosthetic with many praising Slater\“s ability to turn a setback into something crazy.
In an X post, one user quipped, “I’d give an eye to have one of these.” Another chimed in, “Hardest prosthetic I have ever seen.”
