The H1B visa lottery second round is an additional selection process conducted by USCIS when the initial cap of 85,000 visas is not met during the first lottery. This typically occurs when some selected applicants withdraw their petitions or are denied during the initial review process.
For the second round lottery, USCIS randomly selects additional petitions from the remaining pool of electronic registrations that were not selected in the first round. The selection is completely random and follows the same procedures as the initial lottery.
Selected applicants in the second round have the same filing period as first-round selectees to submit their complete H1B petition packages. The processing timeline and requirements remain identical to the standard H1B application process.
It\“s important to note that being selected in the second round lottery does not guarantee visa approval. All selected petitions still undergo the same rigorous review process to ensure they meet all H1B eligibility requirements. |
