The Florida Lottery Powerball is one of the most popular lottery games in the United States, offering players the chance to win massive jackpots that can change lives forever. This multi-state lottery game is played in 45 states, including Florida, plus Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
To play Florida Powerball, players select five numbers from 1 to 69 for the white balls and one number from 1 to 26 for the red Powerball. The cost per play is $2, with an additional $1 for the Power Play option that can multiply non-jackpot prizes. Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 PM Eastern Time.
Winning the Powerball jackpot requires matching all five white balls in any order plus the red Powerball. The odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1 in 292 million, but there are eight other ways to win prizes ranging from $4 to $1 million. The Powerball jackpot starts at $20 million and grows until someone wins it.
Florida has produced numerous Powerball winners over the years, with some of the largest prizes being claimed by lucky players across the state. Winners have 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prizes at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee. |
