During her recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, host Jimmy Fallon pointed out that “all the internet’s going crazy that Katniss and Edward are in a movie together.”
However, Lawrence quickly clarified that even though they are in the film together, it is a completely different project and storyline featuring all-new characters.
“No! I’m very nervous that people are going to sprint to the theatre thinking it’s like Katniss and Edward fanfic, and it’s not,” she explained. “It’s like a very idiosyncratic, like poetic, work of art.”
Lawrence continued, “It’s great, but if you’re expecting fanfic, you’re going to be really disappointed. I’m just afraid it’s going to come out and everybody’s gonna be mad at me.”
Pattinson starred as Edward Cullen in the Twilight franchise (2008 – 2012), meanwhile Lawrence portrayed Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games (2012 – 2015).
Their upcoming first ever collaborating film, Die, My Love, follows a couple moved to rural Montana, where they suffer from postpartum depression, psychosis and unravelling of their marriage.
Lawrence stars as temperamental Grace and Pattinson portrays emotionally distant Jackson.
Die, My Love is set to release on November 7. |
