  ‘Beatles’ biopic studio official unveils cast for Fab Four’s wives

The highly-anticipated biopic of The The Beatles has unveiled its leading women who will play the spouses of the Fab Four.

Previously, reports swirled of the casting, however, Sony Pictures studio has now made a formal announcement about the actresses. Advertisement

As per the Variety, Saoirse Ronan, Anna Sawai, Aimee Lou Wood and Mia McKenna-Bruce have joined the cast of The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, playing, Linda McCartney, Yoko Ono, Pattie Boyd and Maureen Starkey, respectively.  

“Maureen, Linda, Yoko and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right and I’m thrilled that we’ve managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure,“ director Sam Mendes said in a statement.

Linda, played by Ronan, met Paul McCartney in 1967 while working as a photographer. They married in 1969 and when the Beatles broke up, she was member of McCartney’s band, Wings. She passed away in 1998 due to breast cancer.

Ono and John Lennon first met in 1966 while he was still married to Cynthia Powell, but after their divorce in 1968, he and Ono married the next year.

Boyd was working as a model when she met George Harrison on the set of the Beatles\“ 1964 film A Hard Day’s Night. They tied the knot in 1966 and then got divorced in 1977.  

Starkey was 16 and working as a hairdresser when she started dating Ringo Starr. They married in 1965, had three children and then got separated in 1975.

The thrilling cinematic event will be in four movies each take the perspective of the one member of the band starring Harris Dickenson as Lennon, Paul Mescal as McCartney, Joseph Quinn as Harrison and Barry Keoghan as Starr.

The story will follow their climb from streets of Liverpool to becoming the biggest band in the world till they broke apart in 1970.
