Australia to launch world’s first ‘endless Ski tunnel’ by 2027
AdvertisementAustralia is set to open the world’s endless mountain-skiing experience to adventure enthusiasts, allowing them to play and enjoy the sport year-round.
A large “Snowtunnel”, measuring 52.5 feet in length and 41 feet in height, will be built in Australia by 2027. Designed like a hamster wheel, it aims to revolutionize indoor skiing.
Inventor Scott Kessler said the tunnel will feature a spinning loop that lets visitors enjoy adventure year-round, regardless of the weather.
He added, “It will provide real-life snow experience for experienced skiers and novices.”
Plans are to install the Snowtunnel wheels across the country, starting in major cities such as Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.
Snowtunnel Park CEO and co-founder Pressler said they aim to ignite the passion for alpine experiences, just as the latest technology has sparked interest in rock climbing and skydiving.
The wheel\“s inner surface will be covered with real, powdery, crunchy snow made from iced water.
Due to the moving tunnel’s massive structure, dozens of paid users can enjoy it at once; however, the company has not yet announced pricing.
Adventure lovers hope the initiative will solve a crucial problem for the skiing industry-the lack of snow amid the worsening effects of global warming.
