All the staffers and the builders involved in the move were thrown a special private party by the future king and queen to express their gratitude for working “tirelessly” in order to meet the new deadline, revealed Daily Mail’s Rebecca English.
The Waleses were supposed to move in before Christmas but they decided move up the date last month. The builders worked round the clock to complete the move by Bonfire Night.
They also wanted to wrap the shifting during the recent half-term holiday as Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10 and Prince Louis, 7, were to return to school on Monday. /wp-content/uploads/2025/11/8119341239581266732.jpg
“The couple very sweetly just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has worked tirelessly to help,” a local source shared.
The party was held at a private pub near Forest Lodge, on Friday, where drinks and nibbles were served to the attendees.
The update also comes just days after Andrew was issued an official notice to give up his lease on Royal Lodge, right next door to Forest Lodge on the Windsor Great Park, marking the official end to royal life.
Meanwhile, the move had been an emotional journey for the Wales family as they just start anew following a slew of tensions. Even though Adelaide Cottage was a “lovely house” but it “sadly” had “unpleasant memory associated with it”, an insider had previously said.
William felt like it was “cursed” as just weeks after their move Queen Elizabeth II had passed away. In the three years that followed the family faced “most challenging times” including Kate’s cancer diagnosis.
Now that Princess Kate is in remission, the family hopes to start fresh and provide a more uplifting and positive environment for the children.
