During his appearance at the special screening of the movie at the Academy Museum of Motion Picture in Los Angeles, Bruckheimer referred to Pitt’s last days of filming in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, as the “unhappiest days of my life“ due to safety concerns involved with having Pitt race with real cars for film.
“When Brad climbed onto the car, it was his last run. He would say it was his unhappiest day because he wanted to drive some more,“ Bruckheimer said.
The movie\“s director, Joseph Kosinski also chimed in, gushing about the actor to the outlet saying that he “felt really good with performance out on track and knew he had control of the car,“ throughout the production that happened during several real-life Formula One events.
The filmmaker went on to share that he never considered the racing scenes risky or reckless, emphasising that Pitt and the team were always in control. thanks to the skilled crew supporting them.
He mentioned that “ was really sad to get out of the car on the last day. That was for him. He really misses it.“
Kosinski further shared that they let him do “a few more laps“ once they took the last take as it was “emotional for him to say goodbye to his character because he really loved playing him.“
