Written by Chase Palmer, the movie will be produced by Kevin Walsh for The Walsh Company along with Sydney as an executive producer.
The casting announcement came after rumours of actress possibly being a Bond Girl in the forthcoming movie from James Bond franchisee, notably after Amazon MGM Studios takeover.
Interestingly, That Man from Rio was a spoof of the James Bond franchise, which follows the story of “an airman and his fiancée who get roped into a quest to steal an Amazonian statue”.
Earlier, speaking with Variety, Sydney addressed speculations about being the next “Bond Girl” in an upcoming movie.
“I can’t. I don’t know… To be honest, I don’t know all the Bond rumours,” responded the 28-year-old.
However, the Immaculate actress continued, “I’ve always been a huge fan of the franchise, and I’m excited and curious to see what they do with it.”
Sydney added, “Depends on the script. I think I’d have more fun as James Bond.”
It is pertinent to mention that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos wants the actress to play the role of a Bond girl.
Moreover, an insider previously told US Sun that Sydney is considered to be “the top name on the casting sheet for Bond”.
Meanwhile, Sydney will next be seen in biographical sports drama movie, Christy, on November 7.
