Are Bitcoin Transactions Immediately Confirmed?
Bitcoin transactions are not immediately confirmed. When you send Bitcoin, the transaction is first broadcast to the network and enters a pool of unconfirmed transactions. Miners then select transactions from this pool to include in the next block. Once a transaction is included in a block and that block is added to the blockchain, it receives its first confirmation. This process typically takes about 10 minutes on average, but it can vary due to network congestion and transaction fees. Higher fees can incentivize miners to prioritize your transaction, potentially reducing the confirmation time. However, for high-value transactions, it is common to wait for multiple confirmations to ensure security and prevent double-spending. Therefore, while Bitcoin transactions are relatively fast compared to traditional banking systems, they are not instant and require waiting for confirmations.
